The great economic power of private institutions gives ground for thought. As we know, lobbies and enterprises are becoming increasingly important in today's world. Being powerful, the private sector has the ability to have a considerable impact on human societies by using their wealth and influence. This brings up the issue of the complete lack of democratic process inherent to the positioning of actors of the private sector in positions of power. Nowadays, the situation is such that private entities, which aim is to grow profit, are stronger than elected bodies, which goal is to serve the people. The result is that as time passes, the world is run by entities running on the idea that serving humanity is less important than financial gain.
