ELOA E SAMAEL
oil and pencil
53 x 73 cm
2024
Inspired by Renaissance sculptors and painters, the artworks depict Alfred de Vigny's poem 'Eloa ou la soeur des anges' (Eloa or the Sister of Angels), about the angel Eloa falling in love with the fallen angel Samael. It is an illustration of love, seduction and toxicity. Its reflective surface invites the viewer to contemplate and muse over his own relationships, whether from the standpoint of his personal experiences or of his own actions towards others; a topic of great importance in our century.
